EDUCATION

Learning Together

Learning Together is a tutoring program that serves elementary school children from Kindergarten to 5th grade. These tutoring sessions are done by some of our local educators, including teachers that our students may see in their regular school time. Our tutors are bilingual and culturally aware to connect with students of all backgrounds. During these sessions students are assisted in subjects like math, ELA, science, social studies or any other area where they may be struggling while also being taught key skills such as problem solving, team building, and more.

NOTE: Tutoring takes place Monday to Thursday 3:30 PM-5:30 PM during the SCHOOL YEAR ONLY

If you are interested in registering your child, please visit our office on 79 Academy St. Marion NC, 28752 or contact us at 828-747-2867.

Continuing Education

The Continuing Education program was established in July of 2022 by Melissa Flores. This program looks to support our community with furthering their education by getting enrolled in GED, ESL, and computer classes which are provided by the Centro Unido Latino Americano. These classes are bilingual and through Continuing Education, we provide opportunities for DACA students thanks to McDowell Technical Community College. Due to the expressed need of our community, we’ve created a four-level technology course going over basic computer skills, internet browsing, and google programs like Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs. All of these courses are certified through the college and can receive C.E credits upon completion. To learn more about our classes or get registered contact our program coordinator, call, or visit our offices.
