Job Summary 

The Programming Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and operational oversight for Centro Unido Latino Americano's community programs. This position ensures that all programming is delivered with excellence, cultural competence, and in alignment with the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and grant requirements.

The Programming Supervisor oversee daily program operations, supervises program staff, monitors program outcomes, strengthens partnerships, ensures compliance with funding requirements, and promotes collaboration across departments. As a member of the Leadership Team, this individual plays a key role in expanding Centro Unido

s impact throughout Western North Carolina.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Program Leadership & Oversight

Provide leadership, supervision, and strategic oversight for all assigned community programs, ensuring effective implementation and alignment with organizational goals. Oversee the planning, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of programs within Centro Unido's core service areas: 

Health & Wellness Programs: Supervise Healthy Minds educational forums, mental wellness initiatives, support groups, community trainings, health education workshops, and food security initiative (including food distribution and nutrition education). Monitor participant engagement and program outcomes

Advocacy & Community Services: Coordinate community advocacy initiatives, resource navigation services, immigration-related education, legal resource events, and language access/interpretation initiatives. Collaborate with partners to improve service access and assist in coordinating emergency response efforts during crises.

Career & Learning Programs: Supervise educational and workforce development initiatives, after-school and youth enrichment programming, computer literacy, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce readiness classes. Ensure programming meets participant and grant objectives. 

Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement: Supervise youth leadership initiatives, civic engagement activities, volunteer development, youth engagement projects, leadership workshops, and community service opportunities. 

Arts, Culture & Community Engagement: Oversee cultural celebrations, educational events, festivals, and community outreach initiatives that celebrate Latino heritage and strengthen community connections. 

2. Staff Leadership & Supervision 

   ● Supervise, train, and evaluate Program Coordinators, Assistants, Interns, Volunteers, and Contractors. 

   ● Conduct regular one-on-one supervision meetings as well as regular staff/team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and goals. 

   ● Complete annual performance evaluations and coach employees through professional development opportunities. 

   ● Provide onboarding and training for new staff while fostering a collaborative, respectful, positive, and mission-driven team culture. 

   ● Address performance concerns in accordance with organizational policies. 

3. Program Planning & Evaluation

   ● Develop annual program work plans and implementation timelines. 

   ● Monitor program performance and participant outcomes to evaluate and improve program effectiveness. 

   ● Ensure programs align with Centro Unido's strategic plan. 

   ● Review monthly program reports and recommend quality improvements.

4. Grant Compliance, Budgeting & Reporting 

   ● Ensure all grant-funded activities comply with approved scopes of work, funding guidelines, and legal requirements. 

   ● Monitor grant deliverables, deadlines, and performance measures. 

   ● Assist in developing and monitoring program budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring fiscal compliance. 

   ● Ensure accurate participant documentation and data collection; maintain complete and organized program records for audits and funder reviews. 

   ● Collaborate with the Development Team to prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and budgetary status for management and funders. 

5. Community Engagement & Partnerships

   ● Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, stakeholders, and community leaders.

   ● Represent Centro Unido at meetings, coalitions, conferences, and community events to promote programs and increase awareness of available services. 

   ● Identify opportunities for collaboration and program expansion. 

6. Data Management & Continuous Improvement 

   ● Monitor program dashboards and key performance indicators. 

   ● Ensure accurate participant data entry and recordkeeping. 

   ● Analyze program trends and outcomes to guide improvements and decision-making.

   ● Promote a culture of continuous learning and accountability. 

7. Operations & Administrative Responsibilities 

   ● Coordinate annual program calendars and schedules. 

   ● Coordinate logistics for trainings, workshops, and community events.

   ● Ensure adequate program supplies and resources are available and secured. 

8. Emergency Response 

   ● Support Centro Unido's emergency response efforts by coordinating program operations during emergencies, assisting with community resource distribution, supporting volunteer coordination, communicating with partners, and adapting programming to meet urgent community needs. 

9. Leadership Team Responsibilities 

   ● Participate actively in organizational leadership meetings and support the implementation of the Strategic Plan. 

   ● Promote collaboration across departments and help strengthen organizational systems and processes. 

   ● Mentor emerging nonprofit leaders. 

   ● Model professionalism, accountability, and servant leadership while upholding Centro Unido's mission, values, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and community empowerment. 

Job Requirements & Qualifications 

   Minimum Qualifications 

   ● Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or nonprofit program management experience. 

   ● Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and build collaborative partnerships with diverse populations and stakeholders.

   ● Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. 

   ● Licenses: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 

   ● Bilingual (English/Spanish). 

  Preferred Qualifications 

   ● Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 

   ● Experience managing grant-funded programs and monitoring budgets.

   ● Experience with nonprofit databases, fundraising software, and reporting systems.

   ● Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices. 

  Work Environment 

   ● This position primarily operates in an office and community setting.

   ● Requires local travel to various community sites. 

   ● Requires flexibility to work occasional evening or weekend hours for events, meetings, and program oversight.
